Chemical Peels
Another option for improving the texture and appearance of your skin is through chemical peels. A chemical peel is a procedure in which a chemical of some type, most commonly an acid, is applied to the skin for a brief period of time and then washed off. The solution exfoliates the topmost layers of skin, causing them to peel off over several days. When the peeling process is complete, the new layer of undamaged skin is smoother in texture and more even in color. This process isn't quite as drastic as it sounds most of the peeling is simply flaking-off dead skin. Often patients undergo several treatments to obtain the best results. The chemical peel is most beneficial for acne, dry skin, sun-damaged skin, fine wrinkles, and pigmentation problems.
